loves all the way from malaysia/singapore

i was laughing when i opened this thoughtful package

and a sun in ma room. can u feel the warmth?

anyway, second semester has started, how fast the time has passed phew~. i am taking 3 subjects: Physics-based Modelling of Musical Instruments (Matlab simulation on sound effects etc), Sound and Fixed Media(film sound studies) and Musical Acoustics Honours Project(aka small FYP) this semester, less classes, more practical. classes are more interesting compared to last semester. i really like sound & fixed media lectures except that i have not seen any of the film examples given. but, it is still fun and interesting minus the 5000 words of film sound analysis essay. some of the film examples given are very interesting. here, man on wire, a documentary film which in my opinion is very nice, try watch it if possible. and, one of the soundtrack by michael nyman
or maybe i like the film because of nyman's soundtrack

one of erik satie's work that i just fell in love with

have a chilled weekend folks, cheers!

  1. Love the Time Lapse piece by Michael Nyman. The strong brass reminds me a lot of Inception's soundtrack, but this one gives you an entire different feel although both the pieces have very prominent horns & brass.

And a Care Bear for your birthday gift, how thoughtful. The name resounds care and love, and in addition it's the sunny bear. I can feel your joy half the world away.

  2. my darlings really thoughtful wan lor. sweet~~

this time lapse piece is one of the soundtrack in man on wire's scene. in class my classmate replace it with jurassic park OST which gives a totally different view. time lapse gives a minimalist and self conflict view while jurassic park gives such heroic, majesty feelings.

  3. well, I'm not good with music interpretation, but the Time Lapse has a very mysterious quality to it. I like it when I'm focused on studying.
